The lost Aeriol-Aeolian piano was located in Mostorod palace
in Cairo, the palace were Djavidan Hanem lived, As she wrote in her own
memories. The Aeriol Aeolian Pianola-Piano is one of the earlist
player pianos and a rare unit in the world.
The patent itself was created by Theodore P. Brown -
Inventor of the first Interior Player Piano between late 1890S, and early 1900S,
. A very few units have been handy built, almost two or three units only and
marketed as AERIOL by Aeolian (Later called Aeriola when started to be a
commercial production).
The Piano and its shell-crafted seat were last seen in
Mostorod Palace and nobody knows where they are located now. They might be sold
in one of the auction houses that were popular in Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that the twin of the piano Shell-Crafted Seat is
located in Abdin Palace Museum in Cairo. And one of the rare piano patterns mentioned above was offered for sale in Espain for more than
6,000,000 Euro.
The piano and its shell-crafted seat is classified as lost antique.
